The English Library in Tzfat is delighted to announce the opening of an exceptional art exhibit featuring the works of Gila Chaya Luzan. Join us as we celebrate the talent and vision of this remarkable artist whose journey through art and healing has captivated audiences worldwide.

**About the Artist:**

Gila Chaya Luzan's artistic journey began amidst the enchanting alleyways of Tzfat's Old City. Inspired by the vibrant art scene surrounding her, Gila's passion for creativity blossomed from an early age. Encouraged by her father, she embraced painting and sculpture, honing her skills at the Tel Chai Academic College.

However, life took Gila on a different path when her mother fell ill. Devoted to her care, Gila delved into the world of alternative medicine, exploring art therapy, psychodrama, and creative writing. Despite a hiatus from her art, Gila's compassionate spirit continued to touch lives through her healing work.

After four decades, Gila returned to her artistic roots, focusing on intuitive drawing—an expressive form of art aimed at uncovering the depths of the inner self. Her recent work bears witness to her unique journey, particularly a poignant piece created just before the outbreak of the Iron Swords War.

**The Artwork:**

Two weeks prior to the war, Gila spilled paint onto her canvas, unwittingly creating a powerful reflection of the impending conflict. Moved by the imagery's resemblance to violence and destruction, Gila chose to leave the painting untouched, seeing in it a prophetic vision of the tumultuous times ahead. As the war unfolded, she added lighter hues to infuse the piece with hope, faith, and the enduring promise of redemption.

Today, Gila's artwork continues to draw inspiration from sacred texts and traditional prayers, each brushstroke a testament to resilience and spiritual renewal.

**Exhibit Details:**

The exhibit will run from May 21st to June 23rd, 2024, providing ample opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in Gila's evocative creations. Join us for the grand opening on May 21st from 1800 to 2000 at the English Library, where you'll have the chance to meet the artist and experience the beauty of her work firsthand.
